Meridian Brand Review

Manscaped may have a huge portion of the men’s downstairs grooming market, but they’re not the only game in town (or the best one).

Meridian, a branch of skincare brand Lumin, is putting up a completely different image — and one that I actually really enjoy. By focusing on mature guys who care about their style and appearance, they’re offering a great alternative to the younger (and honestly kind of immature) takes from Manscaped.

I took all three of Meridian’s flagship products — their trimmer, spray, and nail kit — out for a one month test drive. And I’m impressed with the results, so I’m here today to share why I think they’re worth buying.

Quick Take

Meridian is a polished and sophisticated brand that’s making excellent quality trimmers. They have a premium look and feel with mature branding and packaging that looks and feels great. Overall, I think they’re a classy alternative to other trimmer brands.

Pros

  • Premium look and feel, especially for the trimmer
  • Very quiet compared to a standard trimmer
  • Waterproof design can be used in the shower
  • Smooth operation, comfortable trim
  • Travel nail kit is high quality and looks great

Cons

  • Trimmer does not have a dock or carrying case
  • No USB-C charging option; have to use standard power adapter
  • The spray doesn’t seem to do much
  • Packaging was damaged when I received it; not a huge deal, but definitely a downside

About Meridian

Meridian is trying to break the stigma of talking about down-there-care for men, and make it a more acceptable topic of hygiene discussion.

To this end, they’re cutting through all the usual B.S. associated with caring for your private parts, and giving frank answers and advice for all your trimming and grooming needs.

Meridian unboxing 1

They provide a refreshing take on what can be an awkward subject, and their products are really well designed.

The Trimmer

Meridian’s trimmer is a direct competitor to Manscaped’s Lawnmower. And while it doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles — no wireless or USB-C charging — I actually appreciate the more toned-down design.

It feels great in the hand, and its matte finish makes it easy to keep clean and presentable.

Meridian trimmer unboxing 2

Overall, Meridian’s trimmer is the most comfortable one that I’ve used. I think it makes sense to have a shaver that’s dedicated to body hair.

It beats out the Lawnmower by just a little bit, but it blows away the performance of any generic $20 drugstore trimmer. That’s because its low-friction ceramic blades and low-vibration design make it extremely precise and comfortable.

The trimmer is completely waterproof, so you can use it in the shower without any problem. Adjustable combs make it easy to get the right length you’re looking for. And the heads should be replaced every 3 to 4 months, for $20 a piece.

The Spray

It seems like just about every men’s skincare brand is offering one of these sprays now. But to be entirely honest, I’m not really on board with the idea.

Meridian ball spray

After testing and comparing a bunch of this type of product, I’m not convinced that it does much more than act as a short-term perfume for your private parts.

So yeah, not my favorite way to spend $15. And since you have to let the spray completely air dry after getting out of the shower, I just don’t think it’s really worth the time and money.

The Nail Kit

A lot of guys don’t take great care of their nails and nail beds. But it’s one of those things that really puts the final touches on a grooming routine, and that’s why I always have some sort of nail care kit with me even while I travel.

Meridian’s nail kit is conveniently travel-sized, and it has everything you need to keep your hands in great shape.

Its water-resistant canvas case is both fashionable and functional, and the simple five-piece set is made of stainless steel for long-lasting performance. This set definitely gets my seal of approval.

FAQs

And to wrap things up, let’s go over a few commonly asked questions about Meridian.

Where does Meridian ship to?

Meridian offers global shipping from their warehouses in the US, the Netherlands, and Singapore. However, they do not ship to Africa, Brazil, China, Turkey, Russia, or Vietnam.

What is Meridian’s return and refund policy?

Meridian offers a 100% money back guarantee within 30 days of your products’ delivery date.

How is The Trimmer different from a normal electric razor?

The Trimmer has a flexible ceramic blade and a safety guard that help prevent knicks, cuts, and snags.

Final Verdict

So is Meridian worth the price? For their trimmer and nail kit, I definitely think so. The brand feels more mature and less tacky than Manscaped, and the trimmer performs better and more comfortably even though it’s not as technologically advanced.

For my money, I’ll be using Meridian’s products for my below-the-belt grooming.
