Who is Joe Rogan?

Joe Rogan is an American comedian, television personality, sports commentator, and podcast host. These days, he is best known for his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.

His recent comedy specials are available on Netflix. He released Triggered in 2016 and Strange Times in 2018.

Rogan has been performing stand up routines for a long time. His earliest gigs were in 1988. His raunchy, foul-mouthed style made him a popular performer for bachelor parties and gentlemen’s clubs.

He spent his early career in New York City, before moving to Los Angeles in 1994.

With his move to L.A. Rogan found new career opportunities. He began acting on television series like Hardball (1994) and NewsRadio (1995-1999).

You may also remember his two-season stint cohosting The Man Show (2003-2004) on Comedy Central.

If you never caught his acting or hosting skills, you may have heard him analyzing UFC fights.

He was a color commentator for the UFC from 1997 to 2006. During his time as a UFC commentator, he was simultaneously hosting NBC’s Fear Factor (2001-2006).

The man has had a long and varied career. With his diverse abilities, he’s always able to find another gig to channel his unique skills and creative talents.

Joe Rogan’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Skills

Although  Rogan is best known for commentating at UFC events, he’s got excellent BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) training himself.

Prior to his entertainment career, he spent a lot of time learning martial arts. Rogan is a black belt under 10th planet jiu-jitsu, founded by Eddie Bravo.

Back in 1994, Rogan began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Carlson Gracie in Hollywood California.

Rogan’s also a black belt in gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Jean Jacques Machado. You can see Joe Rogan showing off his BJJ training with Danny Castillo and T.J. Dillashaw in this video.

In fact, Rogan has been involved in martial arts since the age of 14, when he took up karate. At age 19 he won a national championship. He won the US Open Championship as a taekwondo coach.

Rogan also practiced amateur kickboxing. However, he retired from these sports at the age of 21 due to repetitive injuries and headaches.

How Tall is Joe Rogan?

While a cursory Google search states that Rogan is 5’9″, we believe he’s closer to 5’7″ or even 5’6″.

He may become closer to 5’9″ when he wears heeled boots or lifts. But, he is visually shorter than other men in many photos

Not to mention, he appears only a couple inches taller than Anna Kasparian in a promo image from his podcast.

She’s only 5’3″. Joe Rogan is likely five-foot seven-inches tall or 170 cm.

Is he married?

Joe Rogan is married to Jessica Rogan. The pair wed back in 2009. While she’s not a celebrity, she is well-known in Hollywood circles.

Jessica and Joe have three children. Since Joe Rogan keeps his private life on lockdown, not much is known about his wife and kids.

There is some speculation that Jessica Rogan may actually be Jessica Schimmel. Schimmel is a television producer best known for working on The Simpsons and The Howard Stern Show.

This rumor has never been confirmed or denied by Mr. Rogan though. The only thing Joe Rogan has stated publicly about his wife is that she once worked as a cocktail waitress.

One thing we know for sure? She’s smokin’ hot, and she does appear taller than Joe, at least when she wears heels.

Does he have kids?

Yes. Joe Rogan has three children. His wife gave birth to two daughters, one in 2009 and the other in 2010.

In 2017, Rogan also revealed on his podcast that he has a twenty-year-old child, which we assume has a different mother.

What is Joe Rogan’s Net Worth?

Joe Rogan has had a successful decades-long career in sports and entertainment. Because of this, he’s amassed a tidy sum.

As of 2019, his estimated net worth is $25 Million. This fortune makes him one of the wealthiest comedians in the world. He’s 51 years old and though he could retire early, he shows no signs of slowing down.

He continues to host his massively popular podcast, which gets 7-10 million downloads for each episode. Since his reach is so great, he commands an impressive salary.

MMA fighter Michael Bisping revealed that Rogan earns $75,000 per episode. Yes, Joe Rogan makes $75K for, as he calls it, “just getting together with friends in front of a laptop”.

Like so many of the short-statured men we feature here on TMM, Joe Rogan proves shorter men can make great money.
