So you want to dress like Kevin Hart, eh? I don’t blame you – he’s a stylish guy! Let’s break down how he dresses in both casual and formal situations.
If you only had one word to describe Kevin Hart’s style, that word would be consistent.
The guy always looks good, and he tends to stick with the same color palette and overall aesthetic, whether he’s going the gym or a black tie event.
We’re going to break down Hart’s style, but first…
Who is Kevin Hart?
Kevin Hart is an enormously successful comedian, actor and producer. These days, he’s best known for his roles in blockbuster movies like Ride Along, The Secret Life of Pets and The Upside.
But he got his start as a stand-up comedian, a passion he still pursues today.
Hart is one of those celebrities that’s managed to befriend the press and paparazzi, and amass tons of wealth without losing touch of reality and going bankrupt.
He has a crazy work ethic and he seems like a genuinely happy dude.
Kevin Hart’s Height
At just 5’4″, Hart is about five inches below average height (in the U.S.). In other words, he’s a very short man.
One thing I love about Hart is the fact that he doesn’t shy away from the topic of height. Unlike some shorter actors, he’s not embarrassed by his stature, as evidenced by his playful demeanor around guys like Dwayne Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal.
He also hasn’t let his height hold him back from accomplishing great things in life, including marrying his beautiful wife, Eniko Parrish (who is a few inches taller at 5’7″).
She’s obviously an example of a woman who loves short men!
If you’re also a shorter man (like I am), you know that it can be very difficult to find clothes that fit off the rack.
Sure, it’s easier for wealthy celebrities. They can afford custom clothing and personal stylists. But there are plenty of famous short men who dress horribly. It just goes to show that all the money in the world can’t buy good taste, and no matter how rich you are, you have to want to dress well.
Clothes that fit are clothes that complement your shape and body. When you understand that, you understand what works on you. Otherwise, a suit will swallow you.

Kevin Hart obviously cares about his appearance, which makes me respect him even more.
Kevin Hart’s Style
Let’s take a look at his style and some of his favorite brands.
Casual Style
Kevin is often seen wearing one of the simplest outfits a man can wear: jeans, a t-shirt and
Since he spends so much time in California where the weather is either mild or warm, you don’t find Hart layering up too much. But he does like to wear lightweight jackets.
He often wears bombers, leather varsity jackets and denim jackets. Most of his outerwear is blue or black, although he does have a couple of statement pieces (e.g., a red leather motorcycle jacket).
When dressed casually, Hart almost always wears
But Hart is also a bit of a hypebeast, and he’s been seen rocking Air Yeezys, custom New Balances, Air Jordans and even his own Nike runners.
He’s a true sneakerhead and, unlike most, he has the funds to fuel his enthusiasm.
Dressy Style
You don’t often find Hart wearing “smart casual” outfits. He’s either dressed down or dressed all the way up, usually for public appearances and formal events (think Red Carpet).
That said, when he does dress up, he’ll often put a casual spin on his look by wearing a v-neck t-shirt and
His formal style is, you guessed it, monochromatic. He likes black suits and will often go “all black” with a black shirt and shoes.
If you go with the basic lane, you don’t ever have to throw clothes away. If you stay away from trends, you don’t have to keep changing with the Joneses.
-Kevin Hart
He also wears white shirts, which look great with his complexion. Guys with darker skin and great smiles have a lot of natural contrast in their face, so they can pull off a high contrast outfit nicely (like a black suit with white shirt).
Hart likes to ditch the necktie altogether, but he still buttons the top button of his dress shirts – a fashion forward and memorable choice.
Similar to Elijah Wood, this buttoned up look sort of become part of Hart’s signature style.
Just like Donald Glover, Kevin Hart isn’t afraid to go bold with his suits. If he’s not wearing black and white, he’s probably wearing something more aggressive like green or burgundy.
Like Glover, he seems to pull off these looks with relative ease, something that many “professionally dressed” celebrities struggle with when they’re pushed outside their fashion comfort zone.
It helps that his suits fit impeccably well. If they didn’t, he wouldn’t be able to pull off these rakish looks, no matter how confident he is.
Favorite Brands
Like many rich and famous celebrities, Kevin Hart wears lots of expensive designer clothing.
He loves Barney’s New York t-shirts (mostly solid black and white, sometimes with a chest pocket).
I have found brands that cater to what you’d call a petite man — the Saint Laurent suits, the Christian Dior suits — but I live by a tailor.
-Kevin Hart
For formal wear, Hart wears suits from Valentino, Saint Laurent and Christian Dior.
Speaking of Saint Laurent, Hart swears by SLP jeans. He loves their distressed-but-not-too-distressed aesthetic.
When it comes to footwear, Hart’s first love is
Finally, Hart absolutely loves watches.
A self-proclaimed watch fanatic and luxury watch collector, he’s often seen wearing top of the line brands like Audemars Piguet.
Now, my favorite watch in rotation is probably the 40th-anniversary Audemars Piguet Extra-Thin Royal Oak skeleton watch.
-Kevin Hart
By contemporary standards, this is a low profile watch (in terms of size, not bling). Given his preference for well-fitted clothing, I’m sure Hart chooses watches that make sense on his smaller frame.
Want to Dress Like Kevin Hart?
If you want to dress like Kevin Hart, stick with the basics. Wear mostly monochromatic outfits with the occasional flare.
Ditch the necktie, and don’t be afraid to button your dress shirts all the way up. Go for
Try to find jeans with some tasteful distressing, and above all, make sure to get all of your clothes tailored for the best possible fit, especially if you’re a shorter guy.
Awesome write-up, Brock! Clearly fashion is no joking matter to Kevin Hart! I wouldn’t have noticed the distressed jeans with holes below the knee. Btw, I saw Kevin post on Twitter a month or two ago that he’d grown TWO inches. What?! Does this mean Agent 054 becomes Agent 056? I thought that was your handle…will let you two discuss.
I’ve heard he’s actually 5’2” but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt in case we ever cross paths 😉
What do you think his inseam is?And how does he pull off the super bundled up jeans…?
Probably 25″ for a no break look. He pulls of the stacked look well, but it’s definitely not for everyone (I usually don’t recommend it).
