A man in love may be the most generous when it comes to romantic gestures and public displays of affection for his loved one. But when it comes to receiving the same, he may not be too vocal about his expectations from his partner, but in his mind, he views even the smallest or simplest efforts from his partner as highly romantic. Here are 15 things that men think are romantic but will never admit.

When You Remember the Little Details

Men may not be as expressive as women, but they do have emotions and feel things deeply, too. They notice the way you remember the minutest details about him, which are so easy to overlook. When you know his favorite snack, his triggers, or even his lucky charm, he finds it romantic.

Unexpected Texts or Calls

Men in love may not tell you too often, but they do look forward to your texts and check-ins throughout the day. Whenever a message pops up, they hope in their heart that it’s from you. Receiving random calls or texts from you is appreciated by him as something meaningful.

Wearing His Hoodie or Shirt

The most romantic thing for a man is to see you don his clothes or shirts, as it sends him a message that you value his scent. They see it as a gesture indicating a sense of belonging and closeness to him. It’s not just cute but carries a romantic connotation.

Listening Without Judging

When a man feels safe around a woman, he is open and honest about his feelings and thoughts. He feels seen and heard with no element of judgment involved. Your ability to actively listen to him makes you the most trustworthy person in his life and builds a deeper emotional connection.

Complimenting His Efforts

Men in relationships are usually seen through the traditional societal lens, which sees them as providers only, usually overlooking the emotional aspect of their personality and how they add value to their relationship. A woman who shows appreciation for his efforts, even with a simple thank you every now and then, is seen by men as the most romantic woman on earth. She is someone who sees him as a whole, not just a role he performs.

Gentle Touches in Public

A woman who publicly owns her man, her head on his shoulder as they sit side by side on the bench in the park, or how she holds his hand as they walk around in a mall. These simple yet reassuring physical acts of affection are seen by men as highly romantic.

When You Support His Passions

When a man has a woman in his life who supports his passions and interests, he can freely pursue his dreams without any criticism. He respects and loves a woman who embraces his uniqueness.

Thoughtful Surprises

You don’t have to go overboard with the surprise. Small surprises like preparing his favorite meal, a handwritten note, or any small but thoughtful gift count and work like magic.

When You Laugh at His Jokes

Every man wants to put a smile on his partner’s face, and if his partner compliments him on how she loves his sense of humor and how he never fails to set a smile on her face, it gives him the joy of being valued for his presence. It increases his confidence.

Watching His Favorite Movie Together

When you select a movie of his choice and watch it together with him, sitting next to each other, snuggling under a blanket, sharing a warm mug of coffee and popcorn, and holding his hand or hiding behind him when suspense or horror builds up, add a romantic touch to the evening. This is viewed by him as your desire to get closer to him.

Bragging About Him (a Little)

When you own him proudly in front of others, it boosts his pride in a positive way, as he finds it super attractive when you call him yours.

Being Playful

When you try maintaining the spark through playfulness, inside jokes, or teasing, he really loves it. Men are just as fond of lighthearted intimacy as they are of deep emotional connection.

Taking the Initiative

Men are usually expected to take the lead when it comes to romantic moves. Be the one to make the first. Plan a date yourself, or initiate a conversation first. This will not just surprise him but he will see this as an act of reciprocity from you that you love him just as much as he loves you.

Respecting His Space

Men may love you deeply, but they carve out personal space sometimes, too, to recharge their social batteries or sit in their own company to reflect sometimes. A woman who allows them the freedom to enjoy their personal space becomes naturally attractive to men.

Simply Saying, “I Love You” First

A woman who is bold enough to proclaim her interest in you openly is seen by a man as the most romantic thing on earth. Saying “I love you” first is the most powerful move to pull on him to instantly melt his heart.

Final Thoughts

Men may not be too expressive, but they value being seen and appreciated for who they are. The woman who understands a man’s desire to base his relationship on mutual respect and love and to constantly work as a team to rekindle the lost spark whenever it dulls makes her the most irresistible woman for a man. Emotional intimacy is the most romantic thing in a relationship.
