1. What does your personal style say about you?
My style showcases that I care about how I position myself in the world. I see it as an extension of my personality and the way I see life.
2. What is the one fashion rule you always break (or encourage others to break)?
I love color in fashion! I like to be daring with color but still keep it stylish. Color can be tricky to manage, but I take my chances and always get compliments.ย
3. What is your go-to outfit for feeling confident?
I actually see it in reverse. My confidence in how I own the look makes me look confident. The outfit, regardless of the occasion, should feel part of you. Your persona completes the look.ย
4. What is your favorite item in your wardrobe?
I wear suits daily for work. I love clean lines and versatile suits that I can enhance with accessories and color. A good suit makes the look happen.ย
5. Who do you look to for style inspiration?
I look at other real people around me. Trends are fun, but I observe people who look current with time in their own way. I take from other influencers, people around me, and classic fashion examples that I can translate to my personality, body type, and purpose in life.ย
6. Are there any trends that pique your interest right now?
Trends come and go and I take from them what feels like a natural fit to me. Fashion is about problem-solving and adjusting to enhance your presence. Trends to me are a piece of a larger puzzle that I decide what to adapt to me and my style. I look at influences that are timeless and classic and fit with my body type and age.
7. How do you incorporate trend pieces into your wardrobe?
I study the trend and see if it makes sense to implement it into my style. I might alter it a little with color options, fabrics, textures, and such. I donโt go crazy about adopting the trend completely. I plan it so the trend doesnโt call too much attention. My style is all about enhancing my presence.ย
8. What advice would you give someone looking to develop their own personal style?
It might sound very cliche, but itโs true for me, your look should feel natural and unforced. There isnโt a trend that can make you feel confident if it feels foreign to you emotionally and physically. Never wear something that makes you feel self-conscious around others. Whether youโre in a professional work setting or a casual setting, your style should let you be you. Nothing else will work.
9. What are your biggest passions outside of fashion?
I am a marketer and a designer. I am passionate about creativity, telling stories, and creating beautiful things.ย
10. What is your favorite way to spend your weekends?ย
My weekends are busy! I have six kids and a home to take care of. I do love going out on dates with my wife, having lunch with friends or sitting down to watch a movie.
11. What is one thing most people donโt know about you?
I love to sing, I have a fashion feed on Instagram, and I cut my own hair.
12. What are your favorite brands to wear?
Allen Edmonds, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Johnston and Murphy, Florsheim, Lands End, Peperharrow, @collar, and many more. I look for affordable brands that I can enhance and tailor to my needs.ย
