Better known as “Gus” from the Breaking Bad empire, Giancarlo Esposito is a great actor. And now you can also catch him on The Mandalorian, which airs on Disney+.

At that age, his entire family moved to Manhattan, New York. In fact, Esposito’s acting debut was on Broadway just two years later. At age 8, he appeared as a slave child in Maggie Flynn.
Like Esposito, his parents were also involved in the performing arts. His Dad was a stagehand. His mother was a professional opera singer.

Giancarlo Esposito was married to Joy McManigal from 1995 to 2015. While he’s been divorced for a few years, he’s not been romantically linked to anyone since the split.

He has four children with his ex-wife. And they’re all daughters. They’re names Kale Lyn, Syrlucia, Ruby and Shayne Lyra.

Though he’s best known for his amazing portrayal of Gus on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Esposito has starred in several popular movies too.
For example, he played Jack Baer in 1995’s The Usual Suspects. In 2016, he voiced Akela in The Jungle Book. Way back in 1989, he turned in a stellar performance in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing.
You may have also caught him in 1983’s Trading Places or 1990’s Kings of New York.
Esposito also made appearances in the musical School Daze (1988) and the sci-fi flick Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018).
While his acting career spans six decades, he’s also an accomplished director and producer.
In 2008, he directed Gospel Hill. And in 2017, he directed The Show. He also stars in both films. Esposito also served as a producer on both projects.
As far as producing credits go, he has a couple more under his belt. He was a producer on 2017’s Stuck, a musical drama and 1995’s The Keeper. And, yes, Esposito acts in both of those movies too.
Was He Ever Arrested?
Yes, unfortunately. In 2010, Esposito was arrested in New Mexico for suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. As far as our research indicates, he was never charged with any crime.
One thing’s for sure, Esposito is one of the most talented actors of his generation. With a career spanning over half a century, he’s also proof that success can come at any age.
The guy’s been working steadily since he was 8, but his breakout role didn’t come around until he was fifty years old!
