Calming Apple Picking Sessions

Apple picking is one of the best and preferred family activities in the fall. They ripen around this time of the year so it’s a great opportunity to grab these nutritious fruits.

While most people have trees in their backyards, farms have apple orchards that make the experience special. They won’t blow a hole in your wallet either.

Wear your sturdy boots and teach your kids how to choose and pick apples. You can have them carry boxes while you harvest or let them get one from the branches.

This activity also allows you and your loved ones to connect with nature. Marvel at the beautiful trees showing the essence of the season and feel the cool breeze on your skin.

The best part is that there are tons of orchards to visit, too like the Honey Pot Hill in Stow, Massachusetts. It has 186 acres of apple varieties from Sansa to Red Gravenstein.

Another place to try is the Poverty Lane Orchards, which takes you back in time while offering you delectable ciders.

Visiting the Pumpkin Patch

If apples aren’t your thing then try visiting the pumpkin patch. It’s a haven for people of all ages, especially the kids since they get to enjoy all kinds of ventures.

Hop into a wagon and go for a relaxing hayride as you marvel at the sights of a pumpkin patch farm.

You can also enter a corn maze and enjoy a challenge that combines nature’s beauty with the thrill of exploration.

Some locations like Devin’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Harrodsburg, Kentucky even have petting zoos. Of course, this adventure isn’t complete if you can’t participate in pumpkin picking and carve them.

Think of it as a fun practice for your house jack-o-lantern in the coming Halloween. You can even make a contest out of it and see which one in your family is a born artist.

You won’t fall short in pumpkin patches as you can always find one right on the outskirts of most cities. If you’re down for some farm-filled adventures, then add this to your fall itinerary.

Relaxing Tailgating Parties

Fall is also football season, and nothing makes celebrating your favorite team better than tailgating. It’s a great and exciting bonding experience.

A tailgate party is a social gathering that’s held in the parking lot of a stadium, arena, or any venue. People usually do this before the start of a game and it includes music, food, beverages, and outdoor games.

If you’re a sports fan, this is an exciting way to bond and mingle with your loved ones before you watch the game. The activity has turned into a longtime tradition and in fact, it’s now a holiday in the U.S.

Hosting a tailgate party is simple and easy. Just talk to a few friends and family and have them pitch in what they can bring. Food, tables, chairs, grilling equipment, generators, TV, anything works.

Then all you have to do is get to the parking lot early and set everything up!

Bonfire Bash Night-Outs

For party animals, they continue the rave through a bonfire bash. You can easily set a casual one in your backyard.

Create a bonfire as your centerpiece, put in some outdoor chairs, and get the marshmallows and barbecue sticks ready. Complete the ambiance with chilled beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic ones so anybody can join the fun.

The breezy weather makes your trip enjoyable as you won’t deal with the scorching heat or the biting cold. Find places that have lakes so you can take a swim, expanding the things you can do during your trip.

Just make sure you have all your equipment ready, from sleeping bags to proper attire. The last thing you want is to end up unprepared against the wilderness.

Go Fishing With the Boys

Go fishing with a box full of beer if you want to spend time with your best friends. It’s the best time to reel in huge catches, especially for shore anglers.

The water temperature is cooling, and the abundance of forage from summer will start to run low. The schools of fish will start to hunt for more food before the long winter, which is quite the opportunity.

So take your best rod, put on your fishing gear and bring home as many as you can. Celebrate your catch by grilling them and sharing them with everyone afterward to cap the day off.

You can also share the joys of fishing with your family. Teach your sons and daughters how to get the job done, and you’ve imparted another survival skill.

Reasons Why You Should Try Fun Fall Activities

Summer is a time for beach trips and long vacations, but fall is when you resume your daily routine. This makes it easier to socialize with loved ones, so everyone considers the season as a moment for bonding.

Cooler temperatures and the spectacular foliage also encourage people to connect with Mother Nature. According to studies, this helps improve happiness, relationships, and overall well-being.

The festivities and bountiful harvests across the country are convenient excuses to turn off your computer and spend time outdoors. They give you opportunities to refresh yourself before you take on another challenge.

Remember, you need to take a break once in a while and reconnect with the people you love. So why not plan your weekends and do fun fall activities with them?

If you ever need ideas on what to do and where to go, then simply return to this guide.
