15 Difficult Things Every Wife Needs to Hear

The foundation of every successful marriage is love, companionship, and mutual desire on the part of both spouses to remain committed to each other. However, another overlooked factor that greatly influences the strength and integrity of a marriage is the honesty that both partners bring to their marriage. Sometimes, a wife needs to come to terms with certain honest, yet bitter, truths. These truths, if confronted with honesty and openness, allow a woman to sufficiently strengthen her marriage and ensure that the bond that exists between her and her husband remains strong and thrives for the years to come. Read on and learn about the difficult things that every wife needs to acknowledge for the sake of her marriage’s betterment right here.

When Their Husband is Constantly Silent

If a woman’s husband is constantly silent and remains withdrawn from her and everything that has to do with his marriage, then it is a sign that he no longer feels valued or loved. Men tend to act in this manner when they feel unseen and undesired by their wives, a sentiment that they leave unspoken.

Treating Their Husband Like an ATM

Contrary to what some women might believe, their husband isn’t a paycheck that they can cash and utilize to pay off their expenses. Men want to be valued for who they are, not just for their ability to provide in their marriage. So, for all those women who mistakenly believe that their husband is their personal ATM, don’t treat him like that.

Not Giving Time for Intimacy

Women need to understand that sex is not just a means for release for men; it is a way for them to connect with them on the most profound and deepest intimate level possible. It is how men build their emotional connection with their wives. Women who deprive their men of intimacy run the risk of alienating them indelibly and exhausting them of all emotional investment in their marriage.

Husband Over Their Children

Women need to realize that their husbands should always be placed as a higher priority for them, and that includes their children. Women tend to ignore their partners once the kids come along, and that makes him feel undesired, undervalued, and unseen. The woman who makes her husband feel important and places his needs above her kids’ earns his love and deepest admiration.

Keep Dating Him

Women get married and they immediately get complacent and comfortable with their new life. It somehow justifies in their mind the decision to cease doing the same romantic things and expending the same efforts as they did while they were dating. Getting married doesn’t mean that their husbands stop loving them or expecting the same gestures of affection, admiration, and closeness from them. It reaffirms their belief that they are still loved and desired by their wives and it entails remarkably positive ramifications for their marriage and emotional connection as well.

Not Always Being Right

Women need to learn that they aren’t always right. They shouldn’t compete to have the last word in every argument or make their husbands feel like their opinions don’t matter in comparison. Women should give more importance to their marriage and the connection that they share with their husbands instead of giving into a chronic need to be proven right always.

Taking Accountability

Everyone makes mistakes in their lives. That applies to wives as well, so they shouldn’t eschew taking responsibility for their mistakes if they value their marriage and love their husband. So, if a woman messes up, then she should just maturely take responsibility and not shift blame onto her husband or anyone else.

Don’t Deflect

When a woman’s husband comes to her with some issue or topic that makes her upset, then she shouldn’t get immediately defensive about it. She should hear out his side of the argument and not deflect what he is saying back onto him.

Denying Emotional Intimacy

Women need to understand that if they persist in denying their husband the emotional intimacy, understanding, and attention that they need and crave, they run the risk of making him feel rejected, unloved, and completely abandoned by them. It might also make him deeply resentful. Such a man loses all of his emotional investment and connection within his marriage and might even leave it behind if he is denied the intimacy that he desires.

Not Judging Their Husband for Opening Up

It takes a lot out of a man emotionally and psychologically to open up to his wife, to share his vulnerabilities and deepest feelings with her. If a man confides in his wife about something that bothers him and opens up about his innermost emotions, then she shouldn’t judge him for it. Also, what he tells her is between him and her so she shouldn’t go on and divulge it to others, be it his mother or hers. Also, she should definitely not use these details against him in future disagreements. Such a woman makes her husband feel emotionally safe and it greatly amplifies his love and trust for her.

Considering Their Husband a Teammate

No matter what their friends, family members, or the toxic community of misandrists tell her online, her husband isn’t an enemy. Rather, he is her teammate, the one who will stand by her when the going gets tough and ride out the challenging times with her while being her emotional anchor. Such a man deserves her trust and support, not her suspicion and perpetual rivalry.

Expecting Their Husband to Read Minds

No matter how many years a couple remains married for, it still doesn’t lead to any extrasensory perception developing on their part. Women might think that their husbands can read their minds but they actually can’t. Men rely on easy, candid, and open communication to understand what their wives want them to do or expect of them. So women should opt for open communication to convey their feelings and demands to their husbands instead of expecting them to fulfill them without being told to do so.

Constantly Criticizing Their Husbands

Women who constantly criticize their husbands cause them to lose all connection, investment, and affection that they have in their marriages. Such men feel denigrated, derogated, and belittled by their women and eventually end up losing their patience. Such men eventually choose to walk away from their marriage while leaving everything behind them.

Appreciating Their Husband

Husbands want to be praised for what they do for their wives and their families. They want recognition for their efforts, big or small. It makes them feel valued, seen, and loved by their wives. That is why no woman should deny her man the lauding and extolment that he secretly desires from her for the contributions and sacrifices that he makes for his household and family.

Comparing Their Husbands to Other Men

Women who constantly compare their husbands to other men, be it their fathers, brothers, friends’ husbands, online couples, and so on, only serve to damage their bond. It makes their husbands feel inadequate and inferior. It makes them think that no matter what they do, their wives will never be satisfied with them and that exhausts their emotional connection and investment in their marriage gradually but surely.

Final Thoughts

Both husband and wife need to remain mutually committed and invested in their marriage to make it work. However, a woman needs to understand these things to not only raise her own level of self-awareness but also to ensure that her marriage remains strong and intact. Women who consciously make the choice to fulfill these needs strengthen their marriages as well as imbue them with much-needed resilience and sustainability. It enables their marriage to stand the test of time and all the challenges that come their way.
