15 Habits That Slowly Kill a Man’s Respect for His Woman

Men don’t have it in them to voice their bitterness and resentment out loud when they feel respect fading from their relationship. They don’t make grand, poignant speeches or sulk. Instead, they just quietly walk away, offering little in the way of explanation. For men, love starts slipping away the moment respect vanishes in their relationship. Yes, they still care for their women and perhaps even stay. But the love, the affection, and the unequivocal investment that they once possessed are gone forever. Men stop trusting their wives and once trust is gone, what is left behind? Merely the sorry, decrepit, and forlorn wreckage of a once beautiful relationship. Read on and learn about the things that make a man lose respect for his woman acutely.

Constant Criticism

Men abhor it when every action they take is subjected to minute analysis, criticism, questioning, and even correction. This criticism makes them rethink their relationship with their partner, whom they start viewing as someone they can’t satisfy, no matter how hard they try.

Escalating Tensions

Men don’t like chaos; they run from it. They are fine with engaging in open and deep communication but when even the smallest disagreement starts exacerbating into full-blown conflicts, that is when they lose interest. They see no recourse other than withdrawing emotionally from their relationships.

Taking His Efforts for Granted

It is truly frustrating for men when their efforts are taken for granted and treated as the bare minimum by their partners. They want some praise and acknowledgement for what they do, but when they don’t get it, they cease all efforts and stop trying completely.

Comparisons with Other Men

Men lose all respect for their women when they compare them constantly with their friends, colleagues, friends’ husbands, and even their fathers. Men want to be accepted for their uniqueness and the specific traits that they embody. These comparisons make them feel like they are inadequate and not enough for their partners, a belief that eradicates their interest and investment in the relationship.

Constant Complaining

Men like it when their women participate with them in finding effective ways to deal with the problems in their relationships. However, a woman who only complains, shifts blame onto him, whines, and vents constantly appears emotionally immature to men. They lose all respect for such women and lose all connection and investment in the relationship eventually.

Exploiting Intimacy

Men don’t like it when their partners start using intimacy as a bargaining chip in their relationship. A partner who weaponizes affection, withholds intimacy, and uses it to get their way loses all respect in the eyes of men. They want to be loved, not manipulated through this crucial component of their relationship.

Playing the Victim Always

A woman who is wont to playing the victim in every scenario, never accepts her fault, and fails to apologize at every opportunity signals emotional immaturity to men. There is only so long that they can bear this abuse before they shut down and withdraw emotionally from such a partner.

Belittling His Passions or Dreams

Men don’t want a partner who is habitual of belittling his interests, mocking his hobbies, and constantly making fun of his ambitions and aspirations. It makes them feel inferior and small, a feeling that no man likes.

Excessive Drama

Men don’t want drama and chaos in their lives. If their partner constantly engages in fights, stirs up conflict, and doesn’t hesitate to bring friends and family members into the fray, they end up losing a man’s respect and admiration.

No Respect for Boundaries

Men lose respect fast if their women repeatedly violate their boundaries. Actions like checking his phone uninvited, making up rules that he didn’t consent to, violating his privacy, or intruding on his quality time destroy his respect and trust for his woman.

Acting Entitled

A woman who acts as if she’s entitled to her man’s time, emotional energy, and finances loses respect completely. Men love a woman who can afford generosity to them. What they don’t like is entitlement and are repulsed by it.

Denigrating Him in Front of Others

Men don’t like it when their partner starts talking badly about them to others. These can be their friends, family members, colleagues, or even strangers. The point remains that men feel incredibly hurt by this action. They irrevocably lose the trust and connection that they had in their partner and in the relationship because of this.

Constantly Testing Him

Men find women who constantly put them through a series of tests intended to corroborate their love, spark jealousy, or trigger unnecessary anxiety to be immensely immature and unfeminine. They disconnect from them completely, leaving no room for things to return to the way they were.

Not Appreciating His Masculinity

A man’s natural instincts are to provide, care for, and defend his loved ones. Women who challenge or mock these traits and generally treat his masculinity as a flaw lose all interest and respect in the eyes of their men.

Constant Evaluations

Men don’t like it when their relationship starts feeling like an endless job interview where their every action is subjected to intense scrutiny and evaluation. They want to be understood adnd loved and when they aren’t afforded these graces, they withdraw completely from the relationship.

Final Thoughts

Men don’t expect nor do they want perfection from their partners. They only want respect and steady honesty in their relationship. When they feel disrespected, they start resenting their partners until they run out of patience and eventually abandon their relationship.
