15 Reasons Men Look at Other Women, Even When They’re Deeply in Love With You

For women, it can be incredibly hurtful to notice their man’s gaze drifting off and resting upon some other woman exuding vivaciousness. It matters not for how long their gaze may linger; it still stings a lot. But the thing is, men aren’t looking to trade in their present relationships for new ones. They are merely acting on their instinctual impulse, one that compels them to stare in the direction of something attractive. They act upon this instinct, but they certainly aren’t looking for commitment because they are already in safe and well-defined relationships. Women might not realize it from this indiscretion, but men know the difference between commitment and attraction. Read on and learn the reasons why men look at other women, even when they are deeply in love with their partners.

Men are Visually Wired to Do So

Men are neurologically wired to react automatically to stimuli more intensely as compared to women. For them, glancing at something isn’t intentional but rather automatic.

Men tend to glance at women more out of habit than desire. They have developed this propensity over a long period of time, and by now, it has become a part of their muscle memory.

Curiosity Compels Them

These men aren’t glancing at other women to compare them with their partners. They merely do it while being driven by a strong sense of curiosity. What you perceive as iniquity is normal observation for men.

Biological Reflex

Men are, through evolution, wired to notice shapes, symmetry, and physical movements. They aren’t motivated by romance or any desire to trade up but rather by reflex. They can’t help but look at women who display these qualities in abundance or prominence.

Appreciating Beauty

Just because a man looks at a woman doesn’t mean he’s devaluing his partner. He can look at a woman and admire her beauty without desiring her. It’s quite like when you see a hot guy and laud his physical traits but don’t act upon your impulses.

He’s Mentally Checked Out for the Moment

It might be possible that his gaze is wandering because he’s emotionally absent at the moment. This wandering of the eyes is a side effect of this vacuousness and distraction, not borne out of infidelity or malafide intentions.

Stress can be the Cause

Stress can make men feel overwhelmed, and that in turn leads to them staring off into space. If a beautiful woman passes through his line of vision at that moment, then it might seem like he’s staring at her.

Subconsciously Boosting His Ego

Men get a tiny bit of lift to their ego when they admire attractive women. It doesn’t reduce or diminish the high he gets from being validated and praised by his partner, though, so no need to fret about it.

Confidence

Men notice confidence readily, even when they aren’t attracted to a woman’s looks. They can’t help but look at a woman who evinces remarkable posture and confidence and exudes self-assurance.

Not Being Aware of Your Thoughts

Some men genuinely don’t realize the effect their staring at other females has on their partners. They have no idea that it bothers them unless their partners openly and explicitly convey it to them.

Trying to Not Look

A man who tries too hard and too intently to not look in the direction of an amazing female specimen, ironically, ends up looking more at her. This makes the act of endeavoring to refrain from glancing even more tense and noticeable for their partners.

Comparing Situations

Sometimes men look at other women simply because they remind them of someone else. It may be a celebrity, friend, colleague, or even an ex from their past. It might just be that they are making these innocuous comparisons, not comparing them with their partners.

Boredom

Another simple explanation for his wayward glancing may be plain, simple boredom. He isn’t seeking physical stimulation via this staring but merely something new to observe. He isn’t doing it for romantic purposes but rather because he is seeking something that gets his thought process moving and rectified.

Attraction Doesn’t End When Love Begins

A man loves his partner with all that he has. But it should be understood that men don’t lose their instinctual attraction for basic human biology. They like beauty, especially in women, and are evolved in a manner that makes them look when one evincing it in abundance walks by.

He Loves You

The biggest truth of all is that a man loves his partner above all else. He just glanced at someone, but that was it, a flicker, a fleeting observation, nothing more. At the end of the day, he has made a sincere commitment to honor his bond with you and live life with you by his side. This fleeting look means nothing and doesn’t change the way he feels about you in the least.

Final Thoughts

Men look at other women for a multitude of reasons that have zilch to do with infidelity, disrespect, or dissatisfaction in their relationship. But if it matters to you, then let your man know in transparent and clear words that you don’t like it. He will listen to you and will make more of an effort to mend his ways in this regard.
