Wearing various shades of grey looks great in the wintertime, but that's not the only color scheme that's perfect for the cold season.
Neutral colors – creams, tans and whites – are also stylishly appropriate for winter. They key is to mix up tones and textures to keep your getup interesting.
Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be something inherently baller about brown suede boots. Then again, you could wear pretty much any boots with this outfit.
Pay attention to texture – the rough wool topcoat, the soft cotton sweater, the smooth chambray shirt, the smooth leather gloves.
There's a plenty of textural variation in this outfit, which makes up for the lack of variation in color.
You could tuck this blue chambray shirt in for a cleaner look, or even swap it out for another color like green or red (or just plain white).
If you usually stick with darker color schemes during the winter, I challenge you to try to mix it up by wearing lighter, neutral tones this year.
