History of Rubi Zippers
1926
Rubí Industria de Cremalleras was born in the 1926 as Azamon España, in this moment, manufacturer of Lightning Zippers Ltd., subsidiary of Imperial Metal Industries Ltd. (IMI) group in London. During these years, the factory produced under the name of Lightning Zippers.
1967
The British group decided to start a new venture with Opti Zippers, using the factory located in Rubí in order to launch a new zipper brand called Relampago Zippers.
1987
Because of international economic difficulties, Opti and IMI decided to divest the business and pass it to the employees, who constitute Rubi Zippers.
1990
The company begins a process of international expansion and growth, consolidating itself as a brand of recognized prestige in the sector. During this period, investments in systems modernization and the market expansion took place in the factory.
2009
Because of the global economic crisis, the company is engaged in a restructuring process that culminates in 2016 with the entry of two investment funds that refloat the company, being the new name Rubí Industria de Cremalleras.
2019
Today, Rubi Zippers is one of the major zipper factories in Europe, with partnerships in Turkey and Asia. Accumulating knowledge over the years has enabled to have first class customers.
