Indochino Traveling Tailor Media Preview

Brock, Greg and JoelI recently attended Indochino’s Media Preview night for their Traveling Tailor DC Show, held at LivingSocial’s new Chinatown event space.

Both of the company’s founders – Kyle Vucko and Heikal Gani – were in attendance (all the way from Vancouver), as well as DC’s finest style bloggers and promoters.

This event will be open through March 10th. Basically, you can show up and get measured by a professional Indochino tailor, browse their suits, dress shirts, chinos and accessories, and order something if you’d like.

Getting Measured

If you are thinking about buying an affordable made-to-measure suit and live in the DC area, I highly recommend stopping by the Traveling Tailor pop-up show.

It really helps to be measured by a professional who not only knows the right way to measure various body types, but will also listen to your specific concerns about fit and make the necessary adjustments to your measurements.

Also, if you buy a suit (they start at $379), Indochino will throw in a dress shirt for free. Not bad, eh?

P.S. After I was done being measured, I ordered an Indochino dress shirt. Stay tuned for a detailed review!

I attended the event and it was pretty cool. My only critique is the stylist had very little experience with clothing and suits. She told me she was an intern. She gave me the wrong information about 7 times. I will withhold judgement until I get the suit.

      Hi Wesley,

Thanks for sharing. I’m surprised they would let an inexperienced intern deal with measuring clients. My stylist was very knowledgeable, so it may be hit or miss depending on who you get. I’d hope they have some quality control as far as hiring and training stylists. Keep us updated when the suit comes in!

It wasn’t the measurement portion, it was the styling portion. The sizing portion was quite good I thought.

I was hoping to go for a higher end suit, but I really liked the pattern of the essential grey 3 piece. If I don’t like the way it looks when I receive, I may take the dive and go to Michael Andrews Bespoke in Dupont. I can use more suits anyway

I just realized the woman made a huge mistake. I wanted the herringbone and she entered the plain grey suit. Ack! thanks for helping me catch this. I hope they can adjust this.

Come to Columbus, Ohio ! I’ll be in DC in early April but they will be long gone by then.
